As temperatures drop, wind blows, and mittens adorn our hands, winter can be a tedious time of year. But at the McMichael, it is a season worth celebrating with fun art and inspiring landscape.
This studio program is designed for children and youth aged 7 and up. Families are encouraged to join the participants as they work in a safe, inclusive and accessible environment with modified art tools and tactile materials.
With a professional art instructor, participants will create three-dimensional art pieces inspired by Inuit sculptures and artworks. In the gallery, Inuit artifacts will serve as handling objects for a true tactile experience. In a self-directed and process-oriented fashion, participants can complete modeling clay sculptures, soap carvings and plasticine relief images.
Designed for various skill levels, this seasonal program combines art studio work, outdoor activity, and social interaction.
